What's In Bloom

Whether you’re a keen gardener or just someone who loves beauty – Ascott overflows with inspiration. Each part of each season sees different spaces in the Park and Gardens come into their own. We’re open from early-spring to late-summer. Here are just a few of our sensational seasonal highlights.

Summer

Foxgloves: Striking circles of foxgloves frame the dramatic Venus Fountain

Waterlilies: Rafts of delicate blooms float on the Lilly Pond – a weeping willow looks on

Wild flowers: Bursts of colour speckle the drifts of grasses in our wildflower meadows

Wild roses: One of a wealth of blooms in the Madeira Walk. Look out for alliums, ceanothus, delphiniums and campanulas too

Nature Notes

In summer, bright blue dragonflies flit above the Lily Pond while peaceful carp swim underneath. Throughout spring and summer the Gardens are alive with birdsong – how many different species can you spot and hear? Spend long enough on one of benches in the Dutch Garden and you’ll spot hundreds of industrious bees collecting nectar from the vibrant floral displays.
